... Roxio! It is unbelivably easy to use and literally does all the work for you! I spent all day cutting video clips into different streaming videos, then i stumbled upon Roxio Easy DVD Copy and it gave me extensive menu functions and themes! Pinnacle Studio Plus 9 ... bought my first camcorder 5 years ago, along with new powerfull laptop with DVD bunring capability and all the accessory to go with that. i.e. FireWire cable, blank DVDs etc. Once I finished my first Mini DV, I copied the full content on my laptop HardDisk using firewire cable, and the file was around 15 GB !! I then realised that I need some DVD making software to burn it to DVD. I tried Microsoft MovieMaker to create the DVD, but hit the dead-end when it can not burn DVD which can be played in standard DVD player. It only creates WMV files which are useless outside MS Media Player, that is 5 years ago. My friend then gave me Pinnacle Studio 9 to play around. I insta... Nero s start smart is simpler and has got an easy to use interface for beginners. another new feature is vista gadget included with Nero "disc copy" and "rich preview". disc copy can be seen on the vista side-bar. it allows copying of cds s and dvd s at tje press of button. whereas the "rich preview" feature allows preview of audio and image files. a notable drawback was that the difficulties in linking with WMA files. CDBurnerXP ... had failed me once too often. I was trying to burn an ISO image that was right at the limit of the available CD space, and Nero fell over and died at least half a dozen times, taking a CD with it each time. Damn you, Nero, you piece of crap software! When I calmed down, I decided that I needed a replacement and at a reasonable price. My search took me to Google and the first in the list of results was CDBurnerXP. The site was colourful, well designed and looked professional (always a good thing for first appearances), but most importantly, there was a lot of information on what the program could do and what CD/DVD devices were supported.
