Advantages: Lots of functions, Quite easy to use, rip cd tracks is brilliant

Disadvantages: might be difficult to use at first

i have used nero 5 for a long time now, as it came bundled with my cd writer. the only other burning sofware i've ever used before is easy cd creator 4, which came with my last cd writer.

anyway, back to nero. i know its probably stupid to put this on here, but i downloaded the trial version from nero.com, and then got a serial number generator on kazaa. basically, i converted my trial version onto a full, working version.

the program itself is a bit like nero 5, but a bit more complicated. nero, as i think most people will find, a slightly more difficult at first use than easy cd creator. however, if you use nero correctly, there are basically no ends to the possible cds (and dvds, although i only have a cd writer) that you can create.

there is the standard audio, data, mixed mode, and copy cd functions. then, some new in this version i think, there are many more. mp3 dics, wma discs, vcd, svcd, minidvd etc. there are also back up hard drive functions, rip cd the list goes on.

the software is excellent, and the buring is also accurate. i don't know why people say that the software makes a difference to how quick a cd is created, all the software i've ever used all tend to be roughly the same speed!

i have only ever used the rip cd (allows you to copy your cds to mp3 or wma), copy cd, audio cd and data cd modes. i have never made an mp3 disc, although i would like to as my car has a mp3 cd player! it seems like there is no way of getting the order of tracks you want, as nero seems to put them in alphabetical order. if anyone knows how to do this then please leave a comment.

all in all, a good piece of software, that basically allows you to create any type of disc you ever wanted!
