Sony CDP-CX 235

With CD's maybe getting towards the end of their life cycle. you might not need one of these anymore with your Ipods and Bluerays quickly replacing it. But if you're looking for a good and reliable CD player, this is a great choice. And when you think about trusted brands in the music industry, who better than Sony?
The body ... of this CD player is basic and nothing fancy. Its black body is rectangular and I would say that it is one of the smaller models in the market today. When I bought it, the cost was around £240, but I've seen it going for cheaper online.
The device itself features Text Display, Track Text Display, Track Scan, Track Programming for your CD's.
The device works well with normal CD's and also CD's which have been burnt (i.e. CD-R or CD-RW). So if you're one that doesn't want to subject your original CD's to wear and tear, this is a great option. It has a slot for headphones so you can listen to it privately if you choose.
It is first and foremost a jukebox type of player and holds about 200 CD's in its changer. This should be more than enough for an average listener. Although I don't own that many, I found that it was nice to be able to swap the CD's I have in the jukebox device itself without having to put in and take it out from the boxes whenever I wanted to change CD's.
The sound quality is good. However, If you would like to add that extra quality for your listening pleasure I throughly recommend you add on a high quality amplifier to boost your sounds. Team it with a good pair of speakers and you have the ultimate sound machine.
I recommend this as a great CD player and jukebox device for beginners. Read the complete review |

Pioneer PD-F958

I would like to start by saying this is a brilliant cd player with a great capacity of 101 cd's. Can be conneced to most other stereo systems through either the red and white audio leads or the jack lead intended for headphones.
Looks good as part of a stack system, and allows you to program all your cd titles in unless the ... album has cd text in which case you get the name of each indivdual track scroll across the screen as they play.
Not the newest cd player out there but given the still brilliant sound quality, ease of use and installation, good functional layout on both remote and player, and good speed when flicking between your cds probably still amoung the best.
I would most definately say your paying for quality and not just the name with Pioneer. I have had this CD Player for near on 6 years now and have not had a single problem with it. Read the complete review |

Sony CDP-CX 235

I bought this with great hope for my first jukebox and it hasn't let me down, in fact, this CD changer has been more than I ever needed and as much as I ever wanted.
It holds 200 CDs, easily a persons favourites if not their entire collection. There are 300 and 400 models but 200 was enough for me to begin with, besides, the ... separates are connectable, so the supply is never ending.
Visually it's a bit of a beast, a great big hulking black beast which squats in the corner, hovering menacingly over it's protected interior of shiny discs.
The settings are easy and simple to preference. if you want your entire collection set up by style, you can do that and select the range of numerical storage which reflects it, so... you might have all your Jazz in positions 91 though 115 for example.
If you prefer to have your favourites in preset positions, that's easy too.
I went for my own subgroups but individually named each disc in the memory, I can spin the wheel and flick through to see which artist tickles my fancy.
I can preselect or random select tunes and it would probably take about 6 days to play everything and yes - you can do that too!
The sounds quality is fine but of course it makes a big difference to the amp it's wired up to, ours is up to the job so for us the quality is excellent.
I'll never buy a single or low multiple CD changer again, this is the be all and end all of sound storage and selection for me.... though I might upgrade to a 400 eventually.
My reviews may appear in the same or a slightly different format on other sites. Read the complete review |
