Sony CDP XE270/B ... works without problem, which is more than a blessing in the low cost market. The peak search function assists you in setting your recording levels and the programming function operates with minimum fuss. The best part of it is that CD-R/RW discs actually play! However - beware they do not always play without fault (as these discs are often plagued by their own failings), but the majority do and that really is something worth shouting about. Being a budget model the list of functions does not go on and on, which means the novelty wears off quick (I am not sure if this is a good or a bad thing!). Purchase ~~ I bought my SP122 at Argos about 18 months ago along with a compatible and matching Acoustic Solutions SP101 Amplifier, Acoustic Solution SP111 DAB/FM Tuner and a pair of Acoustic Solution AVCS Column Stereo Speakers. I took advantage of a deal that was on offer at the time whereby if you bought the amp, tuner and CD player you would receive the speakers for free. ~~ Set up and Appearance ~~ This is an easy to use and uncomplicated CD unit. It s easy and straight forward to set up and attach to other units. I must admit though, it looked much better in the Argos catalogue than it does now that I have it set up in the living room. Sony CDP-XE 330 ... I have had this CD player for around seven years now and it has served me well. I first had it paired with an Aiwa mini system which did improve the sound quite a lot and then I used this with a Technics Amplifier with Acoustic Solution Floorstanding Speakers and I have have the CD player with a Sony Surround Amp that my dad gave me recently as he hadnt used it since he got a new Cambridge Audio Azur Amp and my speakers are Mission 771 s which I bought from Ebay after selling the Acoustic Solutions floorstanders. Back when this CD player was released it was over £100 and was a five star winner in magazines like What HiFi but I have since seen it for £24.99,...
