Usually when I buy a CD player it comes built in with its own speakers and so this was something slightly new to me. The player comes with a standard headphone jack and so I chose to just hook it up to my computer speakers and press play. As with most CD players there really isn't much that could confuse you but rest assured this player is no different. All the buttons are easy to understand and even if this was your first CD player there would be no problem in understanding the machine and it's remote.
The infrared remote has a long range which can be used anywhere in the room, perfect for listening to music while in bed or cooking. After putting a disc into the CD player it is able to be played within seconds and the player is silent the whole time allowing for greater music enjoyment. So if what you are looking for is a reasonably prices CD player to use around the home then look no further!
Bought about one year ago to replace a Marantz universal player. It actually came in a pack together with a PM4001 amplifier that I sold back on ebay, so it ended up costing less than £100. It is currently connected to a Marantz PM6002 amplifier using standard (but shielded) cables. The sound is very good, a small improvement over the already good universal player but still well worth the money; the midange clearly gained clarity and the highs were less harsh. It has many features that I never really used; I just put in the CDs and press play so can't really comment! Only thing that annoys me is that pressing stop once will force you to start the disc from the beginning instead of storing the current position like many DVD players do. It also doesn't play MP3 or WMA but when you buy such equipment why would you want to anyway??? And you CAN tell the difference between a CD and an MP3! It comes with its own remote, which can be easily replaced by the one that comes with the PM6002, unless you want to use the more advanced functions. It also has a headphone jack on the front in case you don't have one in your amplifier. Disc loading is fast and the mechanism is precise and silent. Only left to say that it is extremely easy to setup and use! If you're on a budget you might still find these on the internet. And you won't regret the buy!
The CD5001 CD player employs the well known high quality CS4392 digital-to-analog converter and a reliable CD transport mechanism, delivering the highest musicality as well as convenient features. The rigid chassis and metal front panel provide a rock-solid base for high quality performance. The Auto Music Scan (AMS) quickly finds the music on the disc and the Quick Replay enables to repeat favorite passages. The pitch control allows adjusting the playback speed as well. It plays CD-R and CD-RW discs and displays CD-Text information such as artist name, and track titles. A choice of coaxial or optical digital outputs combined with the high grade analog out guarantees the best connectivity. A high quality headphone output and supplied remote control complete the picture.
