WE bought this to match all of our other Sony separates and complete the system as we all ready had the Home entertainment Amp/tuner, Tape deck and Video. The whole system looks real nice because it all matches with its black finish. Most modern systems are made in shiny chrome/aluminium finish which I find looks a bit naff.
