Good equipment if you're into CD's!

This is an absolutely gorgeous piece of equipment. All it takes is one look to see how beautiful it looks, but it's not only the looks that count! The CD player itself is absolutely fantastic. I managed to pick the Sony SCD-1 for a shockingly low price and being a bit of an audiophile myself I can confirm that it produces an amazing sound quality. I absolutely love the thing.

If you're really looking for some quality vintage music, however, I would most definitely recommend looking into purchasing some sort of record player. Whilst the Sony SCD-1 does the job quite nicely, it doesn't quite match up the both the visual and audio beauty of a nice record player. I have listened to the same material on both CD and vinyl and I can easily say that the vinyl tops this and my record player isn't even that great.

Anyway, I think it really depends what kind of format you personally prefer if you're going to go for the vintage equipment. Some people may disagree with me on this point too, but vinyl is just the way to go.

But if you do go with a CD player then the Sony SCD-1 is the way to go. This is a solid piece of equipment that I really cannot even begin to fault. Again, I'll reinforce the fact that it all really depends on which audio format you like the most, especially when going with vintage equipment. Keep in mind it's a lot easier to store CD's than records!

      Fantastic quality

The first thing I'd like to say about the sony SCD-1 is how fantastic it looks. The chrome finish and black digital display works wonders in my sons modern styled bedroom, but also in my less modern sitting room.

I was in fact so pleased with the quality of the player I had bought for my son's birthday I just had to by one for myself. The clarity is fantastic and it can even be heard over the hoover if I wish!

The comment of the 'its built to last is true also'! Unfortunately I knocked it off the shelf to my horror thinking I had broken it; thankfully it is still working fantastically and there is not a scratch on it!

Another positive to the Sony SCD-1 is that it is very light weight, perfect if you are worried about putting it on a table or shelf where you are worried about the weight. I'd also like to comment on the clear, easy read digital display and the ease of using. Even for the most technically challenged like me it is a joy to use.

all in all, a very good machine, I recommend it to everyone.

This is a very good product, I just picked it up about a week ago, and I am already very impressed, I showed it to my family and they loved it, its a very nice and simple design, with excellent sound abilities, the digital display is adequate, The only draw back i reall found is that the manual control is a little flimsy. I also noticed the machine is very light weight, which is convenient as I transport it alot from room to room, superb analog playback as well.
