Sony DW-Q120A: ... drive came with my new Mesh PC, and on the whole I have been quite impressed. It rips CDs and DVDs extremely quickly, an audio CD takes just a couple of minutes. 	LG GSA H10N ... to diagnose whether it was my drive or my writing software that was giving me jip, I replaced both, software first, and drive later. Suffice to say, reinstalling my software Nero 7, failed to resolve the issues I was having. With my old drive, the write would succeed, verification would run through OK, but when it came to using the disc in any of my stand-alone players, the image would be pixelated, if indeed it worked at all. I read a review of this drive, along with a number of others in the magazine, PC Pro, and it came out on top, even though the sample unit the magazine had was not a finished item. 	Freecom Classic CD-RW ... you are looking for a fast external CD rewriter, this one is for you. It is quite bulky and noisy but it has loads of good points too. This review covers why I chose this CD re-writer, problems I have encountered, system requirements, what you get in the box, the software that is bundle with the item and a conclusion. Why this one? * The first CD-rewriter I owned was the Freecom Classic Series 4x 4x 4x, which was a slower version of this one. A colleague broke this one, so I decided to upgrade to something faster. 	Liteon SOHR 5239S ... again an unheard-of make shows what a total rip-off most of the output from the major name electronics manufacturers is. A basic yet surprisingly effective, and most importantly, affordable alternative in this market. As with most PC components nowadays, the quality and effectiveness of Windows plug and play has made installation almost too easy, and the internal insrtallations is pretty simple too. I have used mine A LOT over the last 2 years or so, and it just laps it up and comes back asking for more, so reliability and durability don’t seem to be a problem.
