HP CD-Writer 9510i ... great simple to use cd writer. The fitting instructions are very easy to follow. You fit it into a spare 5 1/4" drive bay. It comes with 2 labels and 2 dual case inserts. It is 10xwrite, 8xrewrite and 32xcd rom. This enables you to copy most things. The programme it comes with is also easy to follow. Basically to use it, you install the software first. It will tell you when to put the disc you want copied into the cd rom then shuts the door automatically and opens the cd write door. Put in a disc. It will again close and then tells you it is doing a speed read test. When this is completed it starts copying. If you have a message come up saying "plea... After 6 months of daily use I have yet to have a buffer underun, for a price of just under £100 this machine is well worth considering. I actually paid about £30 more than this when I bought mine. As with other Ricoh CD-RW drives, maintains a maximum read speed of 32x for CD-R and CD-RW media, as well as for CD-ROM. Because CD-RW media has a lower reflectivity than CD-ROM or CD-R media, amplification circuits are more susceptible to noise. Iomega ZIPCD ... wanted a CD burner. I'd love to tell you I wanted one to store vitally important information that I had created and copyrighted myself. That wouldn't be true. If you've read any of my other opinions you'll be aware that the world will not wish to keep copies at the British Library, and the Smithsonian is not going to open a new wing for my musings. I wanted a burner for music, and plenty of it. I am however, a technology idiot, and whilst I happily buy anything new on the market I can't work any of it.
