Toshiba SD R1002:
... had a problem. I was keen on fitting a DVD ROM drive in my PC, but I also needed a CD-writer and there was already a "normal" CD rom drive in my computer. Two devices required, but only one drive bay spare. Ricoh MP 9120A-DP ... deciding i needed a DVD rom drive for my pc i decided that the Ricoh MP9120 was for me. My ageing CDRW (2 speed) was on its last legs and i needed a DVD rom drive, so i took the plunge and got a DVD/CDRW combo drive. My old CDRW drive was a Ricoh one and i had never had any problems with it so i choose one of their drives for my pc. I've never looked back since installing the drive, installation was a breeze as windows picked the drive up first time (and correctly identified it as both a DVD and CDRW drive) Included in the kit are: The DVD/CDRW (get away never) One 40 pin IDE Cable Two Sound to CD cables (the ones for the cd audio) One 10 speed CDRW ... Ricoh 9060A ... bought this Cd writer / rewriter a few months ago, and i am glad to say that it has really served me well. Not only does it burn CD's relatively quickly (taking a maximum of about a quarter of an hour on anything) but also its a DVD player. Before buying this, I had a simple floppy drive and CD-Rom drive. With this upgrade to my computer, I have opened up many new possiblities for myself. The Nero software accompanying the machine was perfect for everything I needed and as a musician who records into mp3s for use on the internet, I was happy by the easy drag and drop interface by which I could convert these mp3 files into an audio CD. ... Toshiba SD R1002 ... my new computer I had wanted a CDRW and a DVD drive, then I spotted this. What an excellent product for £145. OK it only burns CDs at 4X but this really isn't that bad (Only about 15 minutes for a full CD) I have personally burned over 200 CDs using it and not 1 has finished with errors (Using Kodak silver and gold discs and Memorex Black 80 Min Discs). The DVD side is also very good giving smooth playback although it has a nasty habbit of crashing the computer if you fast forward through a DVD (Using WinDVD as supplied with the drive).
