Advantages: Cheapish
Disadvantages: Unsuccessful burns : Successful burns = 20:1
After owning a Creative CD-RW Blaster 8432 for a couple of months, I can safely say that I will never be buying a Creative CR writing piece of equipment. Not only is the rewriter pretty slow in my opinion, but it is very unreliable. To this date I have wasted 65 CDs, and before you tut for thinking I should have stopped, everytime I was told a different method to try by Creative. The drive comes with Adaptec DirectCD software, and together these two products leave you with a vast collection of useless CDs. I have tried all sorts of different things to put on CDs, audio, data and video. Only three CDs have I ever managed to burn correctly. When I tried to make another burn after a successful one, it didn't work. This suggests great unpredictability, and this is backed up by my experience with the product. If I were you, I wouldn't take the risk with this and buy a different, more reliable rewriter. But hey, if you're after some attractive shiny coasters, buy buy buy!

- 11/10/01 I haven't had such a high failure rate with mine, but I would agree that it is a bottom end burner, esp. as it does not seem to support some of the more "interesting" features that top end burners such a Ricoh. |

- 17/05/01 I have the Creative CD-RW 8432 and have not had any problems with burning CD's. My CD-RW came with NERO Burning Rom which was garbage but I bought another cd burning program whick works wonders! As with any CD-RW I have used, it is always the software that creates the problems not the hardware. |

- 12/10/00 Love the title of your review! I'm not sure what to think about this product now though, as the other reviewer gives it 5 stars, and this review gives it 1. |
