Besides writing and rewriting CD-RW media for fast backup, personal file storage and CD prototyping, very fast users can permanently burn low-cost CD-R discs for distribution and archiving, fully compatible with existing CD storage standards. Each media type can store up to 700 Mbytes of data, corresponding to over one hour full motion film on VideoCD with 16bit audio or up to 80 minutes of high-quality audio AudioCD. The 40x max. record speed means a full disc can be written in just 3 minutes. By using JustLink the NR-9100 is equipped with the most enhanced burn proof technology, which prevents buffer under run errors. In addition the NR-9100 takes advance of NEC's "high resolution writing strategy" and NEC's "active optimum power control" (Active OPC). The "high resolution writing strategy" uses advanced laser modulation to enhance the accuracy of the written data. Active OPC dynamically monitors writing power and reflection of the media in use, calculating the optimum laser power and adjusting it in real-time. Not only a media type itself will be written in the optimum way - but even local differences on the used media NEC technology secures the best possible result.
