This drive simultaneously achieves high-speed CD-R write operation together with CD-RW write operation that complies with standards for High Speed CD-RW. And of course with JustLink, you need never worry about buffer underrun errors. JustLink effectively performs when writing data directly from CD-ROM, writing data at high speed and when other operations are being performed during writing. JustLink also makes trouble-free data writing via network possible. In addition, RICOH has succeeded in minimizing circuit noise in its drives by using a hologram optical system and low-noise preamp, making it possible for CD-RW media to be read at high-speed in the same way as CD-ROM media.

A running OPC is employed to continually set the optimum laser power during write operation. The developed wobble detection system for writing has been adopted, giving even greater writing reliability. Better door design and shape provide greater shielding. Combination of low energy requirement and fan-less construction help to prevent dust invasion and deliver stability over long working hours.
