This is my favourite CD-RW drive! I have installed and used many different brands of CD-RW drive in the past, but one of the best in my opinion is this drive by Sony.

I consider this drive on parr with Plextor, that's right Plextor! Plextor is known as the best CD-RW drive manufacturer on the planet which means I have a high opinion of Sony.

I have been using this drive for almost a year now, and coupled with Adaptec EZ CD Creator, makes for an awesome duo. I almost exclusively burn audio at 10x, and this burner does it without any quality loss over writing at 2x or 4x, which is amazing. It does not employ BURN-Proof technology, but I have never experienced a buffer under-run with this drive (but that is maybe due in part to the performance of the hard-drives and the rest of my system).

I have only one tip for those installing this burner themselves: Be sure that you enable DMA on your hard drives if they support it (that can be found in the properties of your hard drive in the device manager). I have seen all too many times that coasters are created because of the lack of use of this great feature.
