All was sorted out in next to no time when I rang the manufacturer in despair. The helpline person told me that a batch of these CD-RW's had been sent out with the wrong software CD's and that the update needed could be downloaded from the internet. This 'fixed it' immediately. I am happy with my CD-RW now, but it took weeks of fiddling and several return trips to the store where I bought it to get it working properly. The helpful sales assistant at Comet actually installed it for me, then swapped the software disk as it wasn't working properly, eventually swapped the CD-RW itself as it was still behaving erratically. This is an excellent 12X10X32 CD Re-Writer. I have just upgraded from a Ricoh 6X drive, and this is not just twice the speed but I haven't had one coaster!!! You really notice the value of BurnProof when you use the drive for the first time, as you can get on with anything else without having to worry about the burn. I bought mine as a bare drive, so it didn't come with much software. While Adaptec EasyCD was packaged in, I prefer to stick to Nero. I also managed to get hold of a copy of CloneCD but was a little worried the drive wasn't compatible. No fear . . . it worked perfectly first time. Well worth a look! ... Read the complete review
