I have just recently purchased a traxdata 8x4x32 and I can honestly say I have had a few failures which you would expect, but apart from that it is a great machine. I have burned both audio and data without a hitch, I put it down to the disks rather than the machine. You are better with discs that cost a few pence more as basically you get what you pay for. I would recommend this is a first machine as I have, then once you get used to it and can master your burns, then it is time to go onto bigger and better ones. ... Read the complete review

In November 2000, I bought an internal Traxdata CD-RW drive - and it has been nothing but trouble, in fact, one major pain in the arse!. Firstly, it had some of the accessories missing but the store I got it from (Game Liverpool) sorted that out straight away. So, what else was wrong with it? I got a box of 100 Traxdata Gold CDR's and the first ten or so, it would not record to (again, game Liverpool came to my rescue - it's a pity they don's sell everything for pc's as they are top notch there). I am afraid to say, that this CD RW did not live up to my expectations, and I am afraid that I can't personally recommend it. It was the first CD RW, which I purchased and it failed after about 2 weeks of use, eventually failing to burn disks on a 100% basis. I then tried another one and the same thing happened, whilst using the supplied traxdata disks. So I think that it is best to seer clear from this one folks, go for a Yamaha, HP or even better the new PLEXTOR drive, which kicks ass! ... Read the complete review
