	Yamaha CRW8824SZ ... THIS Yamaha screams BUY ME BUY ME! And I did. I love the fact that its 8 write 8 rewrite and 24 read but all because its SCSI. Small Computer Systems interface if you didn't know. It means that with this you can burn and surf the net or do other things with it. As it’s not on your PCI bus and slowing it down so your burn fails. It has a 4mb buffer and burns everything you throw at it. It’s quick. You may get other faster reading speeds out their but its not that relevant. You will have at least a 40x CD room or DVD ROM. Theirs not much else I can say. It looks like any other piece of kit. 	Yamaha CRW 2100E ... is Yamaha's IDE 16 times write, 10 times rewrite, and 40 speed read drive. It also does DAE (extracting audio tracks off CDs) at 40 speed. It doesn't have BURN proof technology, but it has an 8MB buffer, and some fancy gizmos to make it more reliable. I have an Athlon 700 with an IBM ATA 100 drive, and 256MB RAM so I can't vouch that it works as well on lower spec machines, but. . This drive is fast, even on Fuji 8 speed media it burns a full CD in just under 5 minutes. In the box you get Adaptec Easy CD Writer Version 4, 1 16X rated CDR, and one high speed CDRW. 	Yamaha CRW8424S-VK ... when upgrading or building a PC, I think it is always important to remember what the purpose of the PC is, as unfortunately not all components are created equal. Almost every manufacturer manages to give their product its own unique qualities, and these can either be great or bad. In the case of this drive they are good, especially if the drive is to be used for burning audio. Being a Yamaha device, the audio writing and ripping quality is superb, producing tracks with warmth and clarity, which is lacking in some other CDRW devices.
