I have a fairly large garden with a long row of hedges. I had previously payed someone to cut my hedges twice a year but obviously this is expensive. I wanted to be able to cut the hedges myself so I was looking forv a reasonably priced tool that would allow me to do this safely and effectively.
I have a lot of Bosch tools and I have found them very good quality and reliable. This was a major factor in choosing this product. It has a good length chain and is easy to hold in your hand, is very comfortable and easy to use. I managed to cut 40m of hedges with ease. It has a safety latch which has to be pressed before it will function. This makes it a nice safe product. It has a reasonably long lead but ultimately you're always going to need an extension lead if you are undertaking this type of work. The saw cuts with ease, it easily carved its way through the branches of the conifer hedge. It didn't jam or clog up. It is noisy but I was quite impressed that it wasn't too noisy. I Could still hear people calling to me when I was using it.
I have not tried this product on thick wood! I have only used it to cut branches and trim hedges but I would fully recommend it for these type of jobs. I'm not sure whether it is powerful enough to be used for professional work.
