This thing is fantastically well built. It is very heavy but easy to use and cuts wood with quiet ease. In fact, I'm amazed just how quiet it is. A mere whisper compared to my last, although somewhat cheaper saw. The performance is excellent in both modes and the only compromise I have found is the lack of slide on the chop saw, limiting cutting capacity slightly. I was expecting more of a compromise from a "multi purpose" saw, but lack of slide is really it. It comes with storage areas for most of the accessories, e.g. guards, tools, work piece pusher, for when not in use. The only slight niggle is the sawdust catcher/guard used under the chop saw is held on with a plastic quarter turn clip in a way which the clip manufacturer never intended and I'm expecting it to break fairly early on. Will not be difficult to replace with a more robust one though. So far, I can only strongly recommend this to anyone.Highly accurate, slow start up, a really good machine that is ideal for both table saw and chop saw applications alike. It's not cheap but for a do-it-yourselfer it's a great addition for the workshop.I have cut lots of soft wood and more recently some substatial pieces of old recycled oak which it cut beautifully. Easy and quick to set up and move around. The LED light is great and makes cutting to markings a doddle though can be difficult to see in very bright sunshine. Pity tools like this cost so much when compared to prices in USA... I have bought more tools from Dewalt on the basis of how well this saw has been working and my assessment of how well it is has been put together.
The Dewalt DW777 sliding crosscut mitre saw is the new and improved version of the popular DW707, now boasting a powerful 1800w motor.
