      Very helpful

Why did I not buy one long ago

I have used this saw a few times now. Bought a reconditioned model and it came fully assembled. Checked the blade and laser weres true and correctly aligned and got stuck in. Very Capable. Only comment would be that if you are looking to precisely cut softwood, you may be best to get another blade. The supplied blade is decent enough, but i found it hard to cut without busting a few splinter out. On a downward stroke, its fine. But when sliding, I found it hard to push the saw inwards at a slow steady pace. It seemed to catch and stick just enough to ruin a perfect cut. Admittedly I didnt try lubing the cutting head guide arms, maybe some dry lube would improve matters. Oil defintely wouldnt as with no dust bag fitted, the back end of the saw does get covered with saw dust after a few cuts and sticky oil would make for a right old mess. Some of my delight is due to having a compound mitre saw. Never having owned one before I cannot compare this with others.

However, it does exactly what I wanted it to do, easily and simply. I was surprised by how useful the laser pointer is - but remember that it is narrower than the blade and make due allowance.

Cutting skirting boards to length is made easy - so I can cut slightly long and remove successively thinner slices for a perfect fit - I find measuring an 'inside' length accurately enough is difficult. It is possible to remove less than a blades width to get the best possible fit.

This tool feels robust enough - time will tell.
