I love BabyCham it was always the drink that I was allowed to have at Christmas when I was a teenager and this carried on to me enjoying it when I was an adult too. Babychamp is most definitely a drink that is designed for ladies though there is nothing to stop men from enjoying it too. It always reminds me of a classier version of an alcopop.

It comes in little 200ml bottles and I love the retro Bambiesque deer that they use on their packaging. This along with the sweeter taste is what probably makes it appeal to women. It might not be very cool but it still tastes good even after all these years.

Babycham is sparkling perry which means that it is made from perry pears. I was a bit surprised by this as I always just assumed it was just a sweet white sparkling wine as this is more what it tastes like to me. It is bubbly and sweet and there is no bitterness to the drink but it also doesn't have the sickly sweet taste to it that most alcopops have.

For a long time I was the only person who I knew that still drunk this but it seems to have come back in to fashion as now loads of my friends also drink it and a couple of months ago when I went to a friend's house for a girls night three separate people brought some Babycham with them.

The alcohol content in Babycham is not all that high as it is only 6% so it is a good drink to be enjoyed with friends without getting really drunk on it. For this reason I also think it is a great drink to have in the summer at bbq's etc. as it is refreshing without being too heavy. The only problem with this is that it tastes much better when it is drunk from a champagne glass than from the bottle although if you do have to drink it from the bottle make sure that it is cold and that you have a straw as it does taste and look better this way than swigging it from the bottle.
