Champagne is a delicious drink that makes me feel very posh! It is not all champagne that I like, I have had some horrible bottles of bubbly that have tasted disgusting but I really like Bollinger. I bought a bottle of special curvee for my grandma's 80th birthday as a treat, it is a non-vintage bottle so it is not too expensive but it still costs enough to constitute a treat. ==Price and availability== This bottle is a 70cl one and it is priced at £34.00. However at the time I bought it Sainsbury's had a half price offer so it was much cheaper than it should be. ==Description== The bottle looks good quality, it has a good sturdy shape with a foil wrapper and cork. It makes a gorgeous popping sound when the bottle it opened and it has plenty of fizz. This champagne has a really rich wooded flavour to it and tastes really dry. It has hints of melon in it so it has a hint of fruit. ==Taste== The bottle of champagne went down really well, we managed to get 8 glasses out of it. I had two or three and I thought it was really delicious. It tastes so refreshing and dry and the bubbles went straight to my head making me feel very giddy. ==Overall== Any special occasion in my family is not complete without a glass of bubbly. Sometime we have Cava, Prosecco or even English sparkling wine but you can not beat a good glass of Champagne. Bollinger is a good brand, they make a good bottle of champagne and I would certainly recommend this one. I like how dry it is, it tastes so refreshing and easy to drink. We put a little bit of cassis in the bottom of one of my glasses so we could try a kir royal and this was really tasty but when you are drinking expensive champagne so should really enjoy it for what it is. Out of everyone that had a glass from the bottle it was only my sister who did not like the champagne. She said it had a sour taste to it but I found it just lovely. It was not sour at all and I found it has the right balance of sweetness to make it a really palatable drink.
Following the harvest period, Bollinger's decisions on blending are not made before January. The blend for the Special Cuvee is an ideal version of the classic Champagne blend, using the different grapes of a given year from a variety of crus,
