Advantages: Nice packaging

Disadvantages: Too Sweet

My initial impression of this product was that it is very nicely packaged and has a 'high end' look and this is what prompted my decision to try it.
As a girl who likes her bubbles (I'm a sucker for all thinks fizzy and merry making) I thought what have I got to lose, I had heard others singing its praises, it looked good on display and the price seemed pretty reasonable especially as it was on special offer at the time.

I got it home and put in the fridge to chill, eagerly anticipating a small glass or two in the evening to come. It was my friends birthday so we were having a tipple or two before heading out.
When I opened the bottle the cork came out with a lovely POP and it fizzed well in the glass. The smell was lovely, if slightly sweet but the taste, for me was a real let down.

As I took my first sip I found the Asti to be overly sweet and almost sickly. Now don't get me wrong I am a girl with a sweet tooth but this just didn't cut it for me. Thinking if I persevered I would learn to appreciate the taste as all my friends thought it was fab, but half way through my first glass I gave up, feeling slightly nautious.

I have to be honest and say I was dissapointed with the Asti Martini although I I said earlier my froends loved it. I have tried many sparkling wines, proseccos and cavas and this is by far the worst I have tasted. If you like super sweet you will love it but its not for me.

Summary: Just not my glass of bubbles
