The best baby changing bag in production!

I first discovered these bags on an online forum for mums, and though at first I didn't see what all the fuss was about for such an expensive bag, it was one of those peer pressure things that after weeks of hearing and seeing nothing but praise for and photos of them I had to have one too. I waited until a voucher code came up on one of the sites that sell them (a small online baby retailer I hadn't used before, I forget the name) and snapped up this style in the pink colourway for £52, saving £27 on the next best price for it. And I'm so glad I did!! It's absolutely beautiful and every practicality has been provided for.

The main body of the bag is pale pink with apple trees and sprays of red, yellow and blue flowers on it. It's made of a very strange fabric, waterproof but more waxed feeling rather than plasticky, it's hard to describe but has a much pleasanter and higher quality feel to it than any other waterproof fabric I've ever come across. The front pockets are tan coloured canvas with brown 'mama et bebe' embroidery on the flap and coach built prams in red gingham fabric with yellow embroidery on the bottom. These pockets close by poppers. The short handles are also canvas in brown and tan stripes, attached to the bag with brown leather loops and with brown leather handle grips. The long over-shoulder handle is all canvas, and the bag has a semi-solid base that sits on four silver coloured studs.

Inside the changing bag is lined in a pink nylon-type waterproof fabric, hence the brand name 'Pink Lining', and the main compartment is opened by zip. On one side there are two thickly insulated elasticated bottle pockets of a good size, they fit my wide Tommee Tippee bottles well and would hold a much longer bottle. The two bottle holders are separated by a shallow open pocket that I use for small items like socks, but is too open to hold anything very securely. attached to this side is a small removable pink leather-covered mirror on a six inch pink canvas keyring hook. The other side of the main compartment consists of two large elasticated pockets large enough to hold nappies and wipes. Behind these is a similarly sized zipped pocket for valuables, an elasticated keyholder, and a pink leather pen holder.

Included in the purchase is a matching travel changing mat in white waterproof fabric with little cupcakes and 'yummy mummy' written all over it, and pink canvas edging. This mat is surprisingly well padded for how compact it is, and is about 30cm by 60cm in size and 2cm thick. You also receive a transparent zipped wallet with the same pattern and pink edging on it for soiled items. this is about 30cms by 15cms, and my only criticism would be that it doesn't fit older babies outfits.

I absolutely love this bag, it looks and feels so high quality, it has been designed by someone who really understands what is needed in a changing bag and has thought of everything, and the absolute icing on the cake was when my son spilled a yogurt all over the inside. Not wanting the bag to smell of sour yogurt until my baby grows up, I popped it in a cold wash in the washing machine, hung it out to dry, and it's still as good as new! Now that's practical!
