Before our baby was born we had decided upon a Winnie the Pooh theme for the nursery as this is gender neutral and is the sort of theme where it is easy to buy branded Pooh goods to complete the look and these have spread to other items as well, one such item is this Winnie the Pooh changing bag which cost £12.99.
One of the things I liked about it is that it comes with a zipped waterproof carry bag so it is suitable for a rainy day. The flap secures with velcro to provide extra protection and also easier access if you want to keep it unzipped.
Inside it has a number of compartments for storing items as well as thermal compartments for a bottle and food as well so it can be taken when going shopping for a couple of hours in case of emergencies. It has a carry handle on the top and straps on the back however these are not exactly very comfortable especially if you have loaded the bag up with a few extras. It is easier to store it under the pram, I never hang it from the handle bar for safety reasons although I suppose you could.
The outer bag is blue with a large Pooh logo on the flap and then the main body has lots of little images of him in a mixed pattern.
It is a well made robust product, my only gripe is that the straps are not as comfortable as I would like and I would actually opt for a small 25 litre rucksack I own if I was out for a whole day and wanted to carry the baby stuff on my back.
The things I found wonderful about this bag are: Waterproof, Thermal bottle compartment and thermal food compartment in the bottom The things that are not so good: -If you fill the bag up then the velcro on the flap just will not stay stuck down when you pick it up by the top handle. -It is not very easy to find things in as it is just like throwing everything in a sack! You have to dig for things. -Not enough pockets for small items such as dummies and calpol sachets. - The straps cut into your shoulders when the bag is packed full. -It doesn't sit on your back very well so is generally uncomfortable to wear. -Doesn't hang well on the backs of pushchairs. I now use it as a bag for muslins and spare clothes and toys if I am going somewhere for the day and the thermal bottle warmer makes a great mobile phone holder!!
I've won this bag from www.ukparents.co.uk competition last month. And now I use it every time we go out with my baby. This is my first changing bag- and I lucky becouse it is really comfortable, light in weight, medium in size and great in design. I didn't realize before how useful this bag for new moms. You can put there lots of goodies foryour baby. There is a great little changing mat inside as well and a separated pocket for bottle, where by the way you can put two small bottles. The bag is really easy to clean, using an ordinary shower if it is really dirty off course- it made from great washable material. So, now all my baby's thing are always with me and in a great order.
Bag includes a wipe-clean changing mat and zipped waterproof bag
