When i became a mum i couldnt wait to buy my first changing bag and a pink lining one was top of my list, however it wasnt until more recently that i finally managed to get my paws on one.
The one i have a yummy mummy one with a cream background. I bought it from kiddicare and at the time it cost me around £70 which i honestly think is rather pricey for a changing bag but id wanted one for so long i paid it anyway!
Along with the bag you get a wet bag and a fold out changing mat, most changing bags have these days, and i don't know anyone who uses the changing mat!
Theres a good amount of room in the bag; i cloth nappy and i can fit cloth nappies plus everything else i need in there too. The strap holds up really well and is easily adjustable great for putting it over the pram handle! Its easy to wipe down but because of the creamy base colour it does mark pretty easily, cream wasn't the best colour for a changing bag in hind sight!
All in all its a really stylish bag that does what it should do; holds all the bits and pieces that you need for you baby (or 2 babies and a toddler in my case!). I think the price could come down a bit and you can get it cheaper when pink lining have a sale on. You can also buy them pretty easily from various baby shops online.
Yummy Mummy change bags by Pink Lining are beautiful bags. As this is my last baby (think hubby would cry if we had another) I wanted to treat myself to a nice bag instead of my old changebag that was just plain black.
The yummy mummy bags are easily identified by their beautiful designs with many of them having a picture of a cupcake on a pocket on the front. The one I chose has purple bows all over but they produce them with designs in a range of colours. John Lewis hold a large selection of the bags which is where I purchased mine from for £64.99. These bags do tend to sell well on ebay secondhand although I can see myself using this even when my baby has grown up!
The bag itself has a pocket on the front which is perfect for your phone& small purse. Either end of the bag there is a pouch type pocket which I have found perfect for storing my babies bottles. The bag itself has a plastic coating which means that the contents remains dry. There are two holdall straps which can fasten together and an adjustable shoulder strap. The bag is fastened by a zip which easily does up one handed which is very useful when you have a baby!
Inside the bag is a stunning pink lining. There are two wide pockets ideal for nappies, wet wipes, nappy cream etc. there are two bottle pockets as well which are fantastic at keeping the bottles warm even when out in the snow! There is a smaller pocket as well which has been fab for holding my tissues& antibacterial gel. There is a zip pocket which I use for my purse & there is a little mirror.
In the bag you will find a lovely thick change-mat which folds up to fit nicely in the bag. It is white with a pink trim. One side is written Pink Lining then the other side is lots of little cupcakes with yummy mummy written on. The bag also comes with a see through zip waller. I use this to store spare clothes.
The bag easily holds everything that you would need for your baby.
When my son was first born, I just used a plain changing bag that I got free from joining a parenting club. It was fine, and did everything I needed it to, but I wanted one that looked nice.
After a few months, I decided to buy myself a Pink Lining changing bag. I had read lots of great reviews, and although the price put me off a bit, I went ahead and bought one. I chose the Yummy Mummy design, in red butterflies print. It cost £75 which is a bit much for a changing bag, but since using it I have decided it's worth every penny.
It arrived in a white box with the Pink Lining logo on the front. The bag was wrapped it tissue paper, as were all the zips and pockets. Inside the bag was a fold up changing mat with a cupcake design all over it, and a clear wet bag for putting dirty clothes etc in. There is also two insulated pockets for bottles or baby food, a further 2 large pockets for nappies and wipes, a zipped pocket, and a mobile phone pouch, as well as a clip that could be used for your keys. I used to clip a dummy on it when my little boy still used them. On the outside there is a pocket on the front with the Yummy Mummy slogan on with a popper fasten, and 2 side pockets. There are studs on the bottom for standing it upright.
I have been so happy with this bag, and it has lasted very well. I've had it over a year now, and the condition is still the same as when I got it. All the surfaces are wipe clean.
It may be an expensive bag, but it will last a very long time.
Pink Lining bring out new designs every summer and winter, and they have several styles of bag in each design. My problem is that now I want more!
When I received a free changing bag upon joining the Boots Parenting club I thought that'll do and it did for the first few months. I then started longing for something a bit bigger and nicer looking! A friend had a Yummy Mummy bag which I really liked the look of and so I had a look at their range and chose myself a Yummy Mummy bag.
The Changing Bag
Made by Pink Lining it comes with their signature bright pink lining which you would never guess at from the outside of the bag. They do a range of fashionable designs which they regularly update but the basic styles remain similar.
On the Outside
On my bag there is a popper pocket on the front and 2 elasticated end pockets, these are great for my phone, purse and keys which I want to be able to grab quickly without opening the main bag. The front popper pocket has a cupcake motif and 'Yummy Mummy' embroidered on it.
On the Inside
The bag is very spacious and even with twins I manage to get everything I need in here. The lining is waterproof so even if you get caught in a storm you know the contents of your bag will remain dry. You have 2 insulated bottle pockets which are elasticated round the top and easy to get a bottle in and out of. The bag comes with a good quality padded changing mat which is good quality and mine is still looking like new after a year. Also included is a zipped wet bag, I use this to carry wipes in I have taken out of the packet to save carrying wipes round with me. They stay wet in this bag and it's easy to find. The bag also has a pocket for your mobile phone, a pen holder and a mirror as I guess a Yummy Mummy is expected to care what she looks like!
There is plenty of room in the bag for nappies, change of clothes, drink, snacks, etc. It still amazes me how much I need to take with me even for a short trip with the little ones, it is great to have a bag that I can leave packed with what I need ready just to pick up when I want to go out.
Carrying the bag
The bag has 2 short handles which popper together which are ideal for carrying the bag on your shoulder. It also has a detachable long strap which is adjustable and easily fits over the handle of my double side by side buggy. This was a good selling point for me as I can carry it on the buggy and then take it off and put it over my shoulder using the shorter handles without having to mess around adjusting the long one.
Price and Availabilty
I purchased my bag from John Lewis online for £75 with free standard delivery.
Would I recommend?
Yes, this bag is great quality and spacious enough to hold all that I need. Although expensive it will easily last through the 'Changing bag years'.
I absolutely love my Yummy Mummy Changing Bag by Pink Lining!
When I found out that I was expecting my first child, I decided that if I was going to be carrying a changing bag round with my everywhere for the next couple of years then I was going to treat myself to a really nice one. So I went out baby shopping and came across the Yummy Mummy range by Pink Lining in John Lewis. There are lots of different designs to choose from for both girls and boys. My bag cost £64.99 two years ago which I feel is an excellent price for the lovely design and overall quality of the bag.
They also make matching bottle holders in the same designs as the bags. These are very pretty but cost about £15 when I was buying my bag so I decided against these and decided to stick with standard Tommee Tippee ones which fit easily inside the bag so nobody saw them anyway.
I knew that I was expecting a little girl so I chose a lovely cream bag with a design incorporating blue swallows, pink flowers, red hearts and little bumble bees all over it. The bag also has a big material pocket on the front with a large pink and yellow cupcake sewn onto it and the word "Yummy Mummy" stitched onto it. The lining of the bag is bright pink and there is plenty of space inside and lots of different pockets inside and out which are perfect for storing all of the little bits and bobs you need to carry round everywhere when you have a little one. The bag also included a very good quality, padded changing mat which had cupcakes and the words yummy mummy printed all over it, a clear plastic zip up bag with the same design over it and a large drawstring bag with one big cupcake printed onto it. There is also a little square mirror attached to one of the pockets inside, perfect for yummy mummy to check her hair and make up whilst out and about :o) There are two good sized handles for carrying over your arm and a long detachable strap for carrying over your shoulders or putting on the back of your pram/pushchair.
The outside of the bag is wipe clean apart from the pockets. I have been using my yummy mummy bag for just under two years now and it is still in very good condition apart from the odd little mark which won't come off and the cupcake on the front pocket has gone a little bobbly.
I would definitely recommend this changing bag and I have even managed to convert my sister who is expecting a baby this summer and would not normally spend that much on a bag. She has just bought a lovely blue one for her little boy. We are planning to have another baby next year and I think that my changing bag would definitely last another couple of years, but because I love these bags so much, I think having another baby is just a perfectly good reason to go out and buy another one!
Thank you for reading my review and I hope you found it useful x
When i was pregnant and buying all my baby must-haves, i said to myself "if i'm going to be carrying a nappy bag everywhere i go - i'm going to treat my self and have a seriously nice one".
I had seen a few ladies carrying round "yummy mummy" bags and they were so pretty, i would have liked it just as a handbag - baby or no baby!
Having asked one lady where she got hers, i quickly made my way to John Lewis!!
After lots of posing infront of the mirror with different Pink Lining Yummy Mummy bags i chose a beige bag with red polka dots.
On the front pocket there is a cupcake sewn on with a green case. "Yummy Mummy" is stitched above it.
There is an elasticated pocket with a small brown bow on each side.
There is handles to carry it by hand, or a detatchable, adjustable strap to carry it over the shoulder if you wish (i use this most as i slip it over the handle bar of the pram)
The straps are sturdy and good quality.
The lining in the bag is hot pink (hence the brand name!).
Two large pockets for bits and pieces
2 insulated pockets for bottles
1 Smaller pocket
Plastic zip up folder (removable) with yummy mummy cupcakes printed over it - i use this to store loose nappies
A travel, wipe clean, changing mat (again, yummy mummy decoration)
A small mirror clipped in (can unclip to remove)
An elasticated key chain
My bag gets used everyday, despite this it is still in excellent condition and is strong and sturdy aswell as pretty.
I can fit so much in there and there is always extra room for more, i also use it as my handbag so it has my wallet, phone etc in.
The only downside is my boiyfriend refuses to use it when he takes baby out alone (because it's so girly), so he has a black Boots bag that you get free with their advantage card! Suits me fine because he won't be messing up my beautiful bag!
If i have a girl in the future i will buy another of these bags but with a more girly design e.g. the floral ones.
My pink lining bag cost £63 and was worth every penny. If you are a mummy or mummy to be have a look at the pink lining website and look at their beautiful bags and purses, they also do gorgeous leather bags although they are more expensive.
I have never been one for bags so when i had my first baby i bought a very boring changing bag. had my 2ND son and i needed something little bit bigger and after getting a nice pram i wanted something that went with the pram!
while walking round a baby show i came across the yummy mummy bag.
Its made from a water proof outer which makes the bag easy to clean with a damp cloth. Two large side pockets (i keep a beaker for each child and a dummy in each of these.)
Nice size carrying handles and expandable shoulder strap. which can detach from the bag.
It also has a nice large pocket on the front of the bag with closes via a press stud button. This has a nice picture of a cupcake on it.
The bottom of the bag has 4 metal stud that lifts the bag of the floor which stops the bag getting dirty when placed on the floor.
Inside the bag
In side the bag is Bright pink and lots of room - it comes with a padded changing made which has little cup cakes on very cute for a new born baby and id say very unisex (i have two boys)
There is one large zipped pocket to the back of the bag. then to large compartments in front of the zipped pocket. and a space for a Pen.
Also they is a clip on some elastic which you clip to your wipe wet bag this stops you from losing the wet bag.
There is also a pocket mirror attached to an other elastic clip in the bag.
two thermal pockets for bottles which keep bottles warm or cooler in the summer in between these to pockets there is a final pocket.
Bag comes with.....
padded changing mat
Wipe Wet bag
mesh type of bag (i used this for dirty cloth nappies and dirty clothes)
I can store enough stuff in there for 24 hours for 1 boy and full days worth of cloth nappies for both boys wipes and 2 changes of clothe for both boys. 2 bottles and a cuddle toy.
slightly pricey but a good well made bag that will last so i do not mind paying for something that will last.
Fantastic bag for all you Yummy Mummy's.
Being mum should not stop you from having a nice bag.
Well, As a baby freak myself I thought I would write about the ultimate baby item which I will never get rid of! When I was pregnant with my first daughter I went to alot of baby shows, fairs and trawled through alot of websites looking for a gorgeous unisex changing bag which wasnt too common and bulky and which I could also use as a handbag.
I came along the John lewis website which was selling all sorts of shabby chic style changing bags and the one that stuck out the most was the 'Yummy Mummy birds and the bees' Changing bag. It stuck out like a sore thumb straight away and I fell in love with it!
The bag is made out of a waterproof material so It is easy to wipe down & is also for waterproof weather. The material is Cream with small icons of bluebirds, flowers & bees. In the middle of the front of the bag is a gorgeous pocket made out of a beige denim material with a gorgeous felt transfer of a cupcake on with 'Yummy Mummy' embroided onto the flap. There is a small handle so you can carry is like a handbag but also a long extending handle so you can put it on your pushchair or on your shoulders. There are also two small pockets on either side of the bag which can hold bottles and small items.
Inside the changing bag there is a gorgeous folding changing mat with the same pattern as the bag. I waterproof zip bag for nappies, wipes or creams etc. There is a little hand mirror which is on a string and clipped onto the inside of the bag. There is a small clip for clipping on a spare dummy. there are also around 3 or 4 pouch pockets inside which are big enough to slide bottles nappies and bigger items into to.
This bag is so versitile as it will compactly fit all the baby items into without a problem. An instead of taking a seperate handbag I always put my purse, phone etc into the bag aswell as there is so much room! I will never get rid of this changing bag and its still in fab condition after having it for 4 years.
It is on the pricey side, I bought this for £75 including delivery off the John lewis website but In my eyes its definatly worth the money!! Most changing bags are not the waterproof material so if its raining and your pushchair your buggy it always gets soaked through!!
I woul recommend this too any mother as it is definatly a versitile and easy to use bag!!
A fashionable changing bag with two elasticated side pockets, a front pocket and an adjustable detachable shoulder strap. The inside features easy to clean pink lining, two insulated bottle pockets, padded changing mat, zip wet bag, mobile pockets, key fo
