Delish And Cheap To Buy But Don't Expect Mega Good Quality Cheese For £1.15!!!

I brought these Emmental Cheese Slices in Tesco the other day because I wanted a change from plain cheddar but wasn't in the mood for the weird sounding flavoured cheese that day.

A 200g pack is £1.15 and that's 6 slices, the cheese is cut quite thick so you only need 1 or 2 max slices per sandwich but it doesn't keep very well once you've opened the pack so you should buy it when you know you're going to have a few sandwiches or salads to make.

It looks wicked with all the holes in it and i'm glad I got the slices because now I remember I have mega trouble cutting from a block of Emmental because the holes mean I can never cut it straight.

The texture isn't all that creamy, you can tell this is a cheap brand because of that and in the pack I got the bottom slice was a bit dry and dusty feeling even though I'd only just opened it. The texture is like Edam but not as rubbery as that, if you get a proper block of Emmental from a deli you'll deffo see the difference between that and this Creamfields cheese.

The taste is like a mixture of mild cheddar and Edam, it's got a bit of a milky flavour and you can taste that this cheese is sweeter than normal cheddar. It's so mild that if you put anything else on your butty it will start making the cheese lose flavour, strong tasting stuff is a definate no go but even a few slices of tomato means you can't taste the cheese so good.

I reckon these slices would go nice on burgers because you'd get the texture of the cheese but it wouldn't over power the burger, you wouldn't be able to taste it much over the relish but that's ok for me! lol

That doesn't matter much anyway because I only had 1 sandwich out of the pack and ate the rest slice by slice, it was yummy but not the sort of cheese I'd buy that often because it got a bit boring. I've had Emmental before and don't remember it being THIS dull after a few mouth fulls but it's been the more expensive cheese from the deli by where my mum works.

Recommended..... not majorly high quality but this is cheap and for the price it's yummy!!!
