      Cheddar With A Difference!

I'm one of them people that will eat loads of cheese for weeks and then not touch it for ages, at the minute I've gone a bit mental on cheese and am LOVING trying out loads of different ones. A wicked cheese I tried the other day is this Garlic And Chive Cheddar that's made by Ilchester, it was £2.00 for a 250g block but a lot of the Ilchester cheese is on special offer in Asda at the minute where you can buy 2 for £3.00. I deffo recommend you try this cheese, you can taste the garlic in it quite strong so if you HATE garlic then I don't think you'd like the flavour of the cheese much. The chives help take some of the garlic flavour away but the taste of it still runs through the cheese and you can taste it in every mouth full. The cheese is smooth and has got a lovely creamy texture, you can still taste the nice creamy cheddar flavour even though the other tastes are quite strong. I think Ilchester has always got a good quality creamy taste but this one surprised me because I thought it would be harsh with it having garlic in it. I think the garlic in this cheese makes it proper interesting, I had some on crackers last night and it was delish like that. There are bits of chive in the cheese and that makes it feel completely different to other cheese. I wasn't mad keen on it on a sandwich because the bread took a lot of the flavour away but I had a bit grated mixed with plain cheddar for cheese on toast the other day and it was WICKED because the cheeses melted together and you just got a faint garlic flavour. I'll deffo buy this cheese again, I reckon it would go good in some recipes as well because the garlic taste would go nice with chicken and stuff like that. Recommended... garlic haters probably won't like it but the rest of us will!!!
