I love cheese, maybe one of my downfalls as its not exactly healthy but everything in moderation! I like different varieties of cheese like cheddar, brie, cream cheese, babybels, cheese strings ect, most types of cheese really!
Primula is a type of cheese spread, its not exactly cream cheese as its not creamy like Philadelphia, its more like laughing cow cheese triangles but more runny (yes that might sound horrible but its really nice!). The primula comes in tubes so you can squeeze the cheese out or it comes in a tub. The primula in tubes is available in more varieties than the primula in a tub.
The primula comes in original, cheese and ham, cheese and chive, cheese and prawns or original light and if you get it in a tub it is only available in original. The tubes are 150g and the tubs are 200g. I prefer the tubes as the cheese is a bit runny so its easier just to squeeze it out of a tube rather than taking it from a tub. The tubes are currently £1.30 in tescos while the tubs are £1.15 so you are getting more for your money with the tubs.
The cheese is around 50 calories and 3.8g of fat per 25g squeeze (slight variations between the different flavours) and for the light version it is 37 calories and 2.2g of fat per 25g squeeze which is pretty reasonable for cheese.
I have tried all the varieties of primula and they are all very tasty. I usually have them on either digestives, crisp breads, toast, crackers or in place of butter/marge on a sandwich (goes well with ham). I know squeezy cheese probably would not be to everyones taste but to me its lovely. It isn't overly cheesey and it just has a nice creamy flavour, its kind of hard to describe so you should give it a go if you are intrigued! My favourite is probably the cheese and ham, it has small lumps of ham mixed in with it (again might not be to everyones taste) and has a bit of a saltier taste compared to the rest which is yum. I'm also a fan of the light version, it tastes pretty much the same as the normal version but with less calories and fat which is always a bonus.
Overall this is a lovely cheese spread, great for a snack or to have for lunch, I would definatley recommend it to anyone who is a cheese fan
Summary: a lovely squeezy cheese
