I needed some basic soft cheese to make a New York style vanilla cheesecake that would not cost me a fortune, as each cheesecake required quite a large amount of soft cheese. Many other soft cheese brands were either charging ridiculous amounts for a tiny portion of soft cheese or adding salt to it, which would not taste very good inside ... Read the complete review

This soft cheese is a bargain. We get through a lot of this since we discovered it. We had no idea that you could get basics soft cheese, but both Sainsburys and Tesco do their own basic/value version of this with only 4p price difference between them. The packaging is identical, which is hilarious; only the labelling is different. But ... Read the complete review

My youngest daughter loves spread cheese, she will have it on toast, a sandwich, crackers or dip anything that we allow into it. The problem we have is a tub of spread cheese generally needs eating 3 - 7 days after opening depending on which brand it is. As the rest of us don't like spread cheese quite as much some of it normally goes to ... Read the complete review

I think snacking is my hobby lol, I eat snacks constantly to keep me going throughout the day as I have a huge appetite and I feel faint if I do not eat my snacks. I love sweet and savoury and there are not many foods that I do not like or have tried in my lifetime. This cream cheese is from Sainsbury's Basics cheaper ... Read the complete review

Now, when we have a baby, most of our shopping is done in Sainsbury's. Almost every time I try something from their basics range. And very often I'm surprised with cheap but good products. This time I'll share my opinion of one of my favourite cheese - Sainsbury's Basics Soft Cheese. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION 23% fat soft ... Read the complete review

I love any kind of cheese, and I saw this one from the Sainsbury's Basics range of their lower branded foods and it was only 45p for 200g, and I bought it because I am trying to lose weight and I love it on crackers for a snack in between meals. It comes in a white rectangle white plastic carton with the usual orange and white ... Read the complete review

I bought this Sainsbury's one by accident, but I'm sticking with it. When I saw the price, I almost threw it away because I expected it to be watery, bland and rather a waste of time. I was pleased to find that it's none of those things. I've always loved strong cheeses, but the mildness of this cheese isn't offensive at all. It's ... Read the complete review

I had this last night with a bagel, I tried the sainsburys one with black pepper last time and I didn't rate it very highly, so thought I would give the real bargain cheese a go. A 200g tub of this costs just 25p, which is a lot less than something like Philadelphia, so my expectations weren't too high. The tub has a plastic ... Read the complete review

Sainsbury's basics soft cheese. I love to have cheese and crackers, and have recently been purchasing some crackers with spring onion from poundland, and was searching for my usual cheese spread along the cheese isle and discovered this cheese spread, part of the basic range from Sainsbury's, and I must admit that I have ... I bought a tub of this Sainsbury's Basics Soft Cheese a few days ago, whilst out doing my shopping. It cost only 45 pence for a tub containing 200g. This is a lot less than branded soft cheeses, such as Philadelphia. The packaging is the usual rectangular shaped box, with the Sainsbury's Basics orange and white logo, and is ... I love cheese spread, particularly the Philadelphia style cheese spreads, as they are so flexible . So, when I saw this for just 45p for 200g in the chiller aisle of my local Sainsburys I decided to pick some of this up and see how it compared . Its a simple white plastic tub with orange writing, and full nutritional info and ... Read the complete review

I nearly puked when I saw this in the fridge because I don't eat any except for Philadelphia now, I've tried cheap soft cheese before and it was horrible and I thought this would be really bad because it looked so cheap. I'd already defrosted and toasted my onion bagel though so I tried a bit to save wasting the bagel. It ... Read the complete review

One day, I said to myself, I shall make a cheesecake. A raspberry cheesecake. This was because, at the beginning of summer, in those days of sunshine and warmth, we had a lot of raspberries from the back garden. I'm sorry to tell you but I never made the cheesecake. No one will eat it with me. This makes me sad as then I'll have to eat ... Read the complete review

I bought this for my husband who doesn't like or eat margarine or butter... I didn't have much faith that it would be very nice as it was 45p for a 200g tub of spreadable full fat sort cheese. Compared with £1.33 for a 200g tub of Philadelphia. To both of our surprises, it is actually a close match to Philadelphia. It is VERY ... Read the complete review

Loving crackers and ryvitas and things like that I'm constantly on the look out for decent toppings and at the same time products that are not too hefty in the calorie department.
