I find that Sainsbury's Greek style salad cheese is tasty and worth the money, and good quality even though it is in the basic range. I use this in lots of recipes, mostly for salads and find it has a great taste but not overpowering of other foods. It complements salad dishes and also is a great topping for pasta. I have tried other supermarket's basic range Greek cheese but the Sainsbury's one is the one suited most to my taste. I also like to use it as a topping for jacket potatoes and the crumbly and creamy texture makes a very tasty filling. Definitely worth buying as it has many uses and is very appetising. It comes in a 200 gram pack and is easy to open. It is produced in Greece and is a cheaper alternative to buying standard Feta cheese. I would recommend this to anyone for the quality, low price and versatility of this product.
I always use this cheese for salads and when cooking.
It is one of the sainburys basics range and costs £1.19 for 200g.
Greek Style Salad cheese is basically feta, so I use it for any recipe that uses feta cheese.
This cheese comes in a plastic packet, which you have to cut open, and like most feta's it does have some liquid in the packet, which I assume preserves it, but this particular brand does not have huge amount so I don't find it too annoying draining it.
The quality of this cheese is excellent. It is not as strong as other feta's it is listed as a mellow taste, but I really like that as it doesn't overpower things like salad. The taste is very creamy, but quite light.
It is a very crumbly cheese so it's very easy to use, and crumble over pasta or salads.
Even though it is in the basic range, it is still produced in Greece and still has all the qualities you would expect from feta. It is made from cows milk, so it has quite a high fat content but I'm not sure about calories as it doesn't say on the pack.
This is a great quality low cost feta, and I would really recommend it to everyone.
