“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Cheese „
I like a bit of Edam but have a bit of trouble slicing it when it comes in them wedges and always end up wasting quite a bit where I slice it too thin to go on a sandwich. I had never seen Edam that has been already sliced before so when I saw these 10 slices in Tesco I brought a pack to try even though they were quite expensive compared to how cheap blocks of Edam are.
The Edam is sliced quite thin, not majorly thin but they're deffo not as thick as I was expecting them to be and are thinner than they would have been if I'd cut them myself.
I'm not madly impressed with this Edam because to me it tastes more like cheddar than Edam. The cheese has got sort of the same texture as any other Edam, it's a bit rubbery but the slices aren't as floppy as I thought they would be. The cheese slices aren't dry or anything but they are just a bit disappointing because of them not being as much like the Edam I cut off the block as I thought they would be.
I used 2 slices of cheese on each sandwich because of how thin the slices are, that meant the pack went down pretty quick and made it even more expensive than buying a block of the cheese. I also didn't think it had such a good flavour and after I had put a bit of relish on my cheese sandwich I couldn't hardly taste the Edam at all.
I kind of recommend these cheese slices because they are nice and have got a nice flavour, the only thing is that I might as well buy cheddar instead because these are deffo more like cheddar than Edam.
Recommended..... but don't expect a madly strong Edam flavour!!!
