I like trying different cheeses because I get bored of just eating cheddar all the time so when I saw a pack of 8 slices of Havarti cheese for £1.70 in Tesco I brought it to try.

The slices of cheese are quite thin but it's got quite a strong flavour and is mega yummy so it doesn't matter all that much about the slices not being very thick. Havarti is Danish cheese and when you have a slice don't be put off by the small little holes in the cheese because it's supposed to be like that.

The cheese is quite flexible so it's easy to kind of fold it up a bit to put inside a bread roll or something. On the packet it said this cheese would be ideal for putting inside a croissant, I haven't tried that but it sounds a wicked idea and I reckon the creamy texture of the cheese would go wicked with a fresh flakey croissant.

It's quite a plain tasting cheese but the texture of it is gorgeous and that makes up for it. The texture is creamy and this cheese feels softer than cheddar and stuff like that, the taste is also creamy and it's kind of like Wensleydale and cheeses like that but not quite the same.

I had 2 slices on a butty with some relish yesterday and that was yummy, I don't think this cheese would work all that well with very strong sauces and things but if you use something like the sweet chilli and ginger relish that I used then you'll still be able to taste the cheese over it but you'll also get the yummy flavour of the sauce as well.

I LOVE this cheese but reckon next time I get some Havarti I'll go and grab a block from the deli in town because I've read about it on wikipedia and apparently you can buy it with a stronger flavour. I think this one from Tesco is a bit too processed and even though it tastes delish you can kind of tell that it's not the best quality cheese in the world.

I still recommend it though because it's yummy and a good way of trying this cheese that some of you might not have heard of before.
