“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Cheeses „
I've been trying to cut down on the fat I eat because even though I'm not putting on weight or anything like that it's not good for me to stick to the mega high fat snacks I'm used to. The one thing I've got to sort out is the cheese I eat, I'm always going to the fridge for a munch and reckon on the average day I eat enough cheese to completely use up all my calories... not that I count calories but you know what I mean! lol
I've tried a few of the lower fat cheeses and haven't been all that happy with most of them but this one from Tesco is proper tasty and also melts a lot better than other low fat cheese. It costs £1.98 for a 250g bag but at the minute you can buy 2 for £3.00 so that might save you a bit of money if you get through as much cheese as we do.
It's grated ok, it's in bigger pieces than I'd do myself but you can't moan about that! lol It feels nice and fresh in the bag and isn't all dusty like a lot of grated cheese is that you buy in the shops, it's got quite a strong cheese smell and I wasn't all that happy about that because it's got the sort of cheesey smell that says it's been stuck in the bag for a long time! lol
When it melts it doesn't go into one big bubbling slab like full fat cheese, you can kind of still see the individually grated bits of cheese even after you've melted it and that might put some people off because it makes the cheese look a bit plasticy but it still tastes yummy!
I've had this on top of a jacket potato, melted on toast and just in a pitta bread with a load of salad. It's best hot because the taste comes through better, when you have the cheese cold it's a bit bland tasting and doesn't taste much like mature cheese.... it doesn't taste like mild either and is just CHEESE when it's cold! lol
Recommended... loads less calories and a bit less fat than in Cathedral City, it still tastes yummy too!!!
