... really excels, it's really tasty and although it isn't particularly cheesy as such it's definately very creamy and is quite filling for something that is very low fat. Many Cottage Cheese brands are very bland but this definately holds it's flavour especially when served with plenty of black pepper or a handful of chopped chives. The great thing about it is also that it's so versatile, great for snacks like crackers or equally delicious served up on a jacket potato. Tesco Light Choices Cottage Cheese: Cheesily Versatile! (370 words)

Cottage Cheese is always a staple in our fridge but this week we tried Tesco's Light Choices (I think there's been a recent name change of their healthier range of products). At around 80p it's good value and is always good to have in even if it's just for serving with celery. Packaging: Like most Cottage Cheese products this comes in a little pot containing 300g. There's a foil lid to keep it fresh and on top of this a plastic lid which is quite secure to ensure it stays fresh after the foil lid has been removed. Appearance: Like all Cottage Cheese I have to admit this doesn't look particularly nice, a bit like lumpy milk if I'm honest. I did ...  Read the complete review

Lovely , Light, and Filling (365 words)

I love Cottage Cheese, especially when I'm on one of my healthy eating kicks - its filling and satisfynig, and excellent in a baked potato . No shock to anyone in my household then when I came home with a tub of this from the supermarket the other day . It comes in a 300g tub costing just 78p, a very reasonable price as this is enough to easily fill two or three large jacket spuds more than generously. The tub is a simple blue and white design, with all the relevant nutrition and ingredient information easy to find . I actually find cottage cheese hard to describe - in appearance, it looks very much like milk that has simply gone too far - white ...  Read the complete review

Tesco Light Choices Cottage Cheese: Great cottage cheese that can help with dieting (401 words)

I know so many people don't really like cottage cheese and either refuse to eat it or just tolerate it for dieting purposes, so this may sound quite bizarre but I actually really like cottage cheese. What is more, I don't like the full fat versions as these taste much too rich to me. Therefore Tesco Light Choices Cottage Cheese is almost always present in my fridge. Tesco Light Choices is my favourite cottage cheese because of the flavour and texture. It is quite creamy without being too strong and it's just a little bit sour which I like. It also lacks the artificial taste that you get from some cottage cheeses and is all natural. The texture is great ...  Read the complete review

65% less fat, 95% less flavour (471 words)

While cottage cheese may be an acquired taste due to its quite plain flavour and lumpy texture, I have always liked it and think it is a great healthy alternative to high-fat hard and soft cheeses, buit one which still tastes good. *Packaging* Tesco healthy living cottage cheese comes in 300g plastic tubs, which, contrary to the picture above, is white with a thin stripe of blue around the side (yellow for pineapple flavour, green for chive and onion), a translucent plastic lid, and pealable foil cover underneith. *Uses* Cottage cheese is most commonly used as a sandwhich filling, but can also be eaten on a jacket potato or crumpets ...  Read the complete review

Tesco Light Choices Cottage Cheese: Even lighter choice for dieters (293 words)

I seem to have been on a diet most of my adult life - obviously without much effect but I do try by choosing low calorie versions of food products I like. Although can't really imagine that anyone not watching their weight eats much cottage cheese at all! I buy the light choices version of Tesco's cottage cheese - in this the plain version as well as the one with pineapple and the one with chives and honestly think there is no discernible difference between them and their "full fat" varieties. The pots claim to contain 70% less fat the standard version but as it contains just 1.8g of fat per 100g then the full fat version is also extremely low in ...  Read the complete review
