Mamas & Papas Pro-Tour ... know it s a very emotive title but I really think it s an accurate one. We bought grey upholstered model about approx 18 months ago (117 GBP) and although it was never an easy seat to use (the 5 point harness twisted all too easily) we could at least trust it to be safe. However, since moving to the next stage where the cars 3 point harness comes into play we discovered that when our daughter leans forward to pick something up (and all children will do this) the red plastic guide at the shoulder is so badly designed that it stops the seat belt from retracting and thus effectively left our daughter in an unrestrained seat. Maxi-Cosi Cabrio Infant Carrier ... a carseat can be a nightmare as the choice is astounding and the options can be very confusing, however I have no regrets in choosing the Maxi Cosi Cabrio Carrier. I use it in connection with the Quinny Buzz pushchair, and for me the major selling point was that it simply lifts out of the car and onto the pushchair, meaning there is no need to wake a little sleeping baby. It is a great, comfy seat and is one of the most secure and sturdy I have seen, particularly when used with Isofix connectors. It comes with a head support for tiny babies which can be removed as they get bigger and gain more head control. The straps are very easy to adjust and the whole unit look... Maxi-Cosi Maxi Cosi Priori XP ... bought this when my son was approaching the upper weight limit for his infant seat, but actually started using it earlier than planned as it just seemed so much more secure even though it is not a rear facing seat. I still feel guilty for not researching something as important as a car seat more thoroughly before buying my son s infant seat as I was never totally happy with its secureness in the car. I bought the Priori as it was recommended as one of the safest seats without using isofix, and I got the XP version as I didn t mind paying a little extra for the additional safety feature of the seatbelt tensioner.
