chucklingMonkey Jane Matrix Pro: ... purchased this car seat as part of the travel system with the slalom pro prior to having our baby. We were attracted to the car seat ecause of the lie flat position which is better for a newborns back. The car seat is very solid and our baby has appeared to be very comfortable in the seat. The main downsides to the seat are that it is very heavy and cumbersome in the lie flat position. Which at the moment is not...

... is a group 1-3 car seat - supposedly from 9 months to 12 years. It is basically a high-backed booster seat. It has IsoFix fittings, it reclines, and the headrest can be raised for older children. You can also detach the back and just use the booster seat. It is supposed to be suitable from 9 months, because you thread the shoulder seatbelt through a low slot, and lock it into place. This means, I think, that you re not relying on the car seatbelt and the weight of the child to lock the seatbelt in an accident. Usually these seats can t be used until the child weighs 15kg for this reason. However I would not put a 9-month-old in this seat. It is too upright, not sup...

... me a car seat has always been just a car seat but when I recently gave birth to my 4th child under the age of 5.5yrs I had to find myself a good light weight double buggy the I could attach a car seat to for the baby, after much research we settled on a Jane Powertwin and the Jane Rebel pro carseat to go with it. When the car seat arrived I was very pleased, it was not only light buy was sturdy with it and with the adaptors it fitted on either the front or back of the double (or both if you have twins) and because of it s weight it didn t increase the over all buggy weight by much. The sun shade for it, unlike mose newborn seats is detachable with poppers and a raincov...

Alastair Jané Matrix Car Seat
... recently bought a Jane Matrix Cup for my second child. I already knew that you need two to three prams or pushchairs: one for the early months: one for the next eighteen months, and another one, if you re unlucky, because the second one wore out. The breakpoint is when the baby can sit up unaided (around six months). When you hit that point, Maclarens are the easiest: cheap, light, one-hand operation. But a baby is not a toddler, and a new baby is not a crawler/cruiser. In my experience the process of shifting babies from house to car (or vice-versa) always occurs five minutes after they have fallen asleep. Young babies are sometimes (usually) very touchy about being...
