As I work part time I look after my nephew a lot. He has just outgrown his group 1 car seat and he needed the next stage up. Rather than borrow the seat everytime I have him it's easier for me to have my own seat and use it as and when he comes over. A group 2 car seat is suitable for children weighing between 15-36kg which is age 4-12 approximately. It is important to go on the weight rather than age to ensure your child is adequately protected in the event of an accident.

I was pleased with how light the seat is. It weighs just over 4kg so it is perfect for moving from car to car or in my case from the car to the house. The fabric of the seat is black with silvery circles on it. The material is wipe clean which is essential for us as my nephew is very messy! The cover can also be removed and washed in the machine and you can also change the cover for a summer cover to keep your child cooler.

The seat has no straps or any other attachments you simply place it on the car seat and then use the seatbelt to secure your child. On the seat there are guides to make sure the lap part of the belt is in the correct position so your child's stomach would be protected in the event of an accident. There are also guide for the diagonal belt to guide it into the correct position. The clips are bright red and situated just below the headrest so they are easy to follow even without instructions. The headrest on the seat is large with deep wings. When my nephew is sat in the seat his head looks well protected. Rather than just using a normal booster cushion this seat offers protection for side impact collisions. The headrest can be adjusted on eleven levels so it will grow with your child. The backrest of the seat can also be adjusted so it fits in different cars. However if you are in doubt Britax have a list of compatible car makes and models so you can be sure the seat will fit.

We use this car seat frequently and I travel quite a lot for trips to the beach etc. I was concerned that my nephew would strugglw to sleep in this seat as these seats don't reclibe like group 1 seats however he had no problem dropping off in this seat as the wings around the headresr are deep and padded his head was held in position without slumping forward. This is perfect for lomg journy's as he still falls asleep very easily in the car. In terms of getting him in and out of the car the seat is practical as it is so simple to use with no faffing around. The seat also has a fold out cup holder which fits most juice cups. There is one on each side of the seat so it doesn't matter which side of the car you place the seat.

Overall this seat represents great value for money from a brand you can trust. It is simple to use and offers good comfort for your little one.
