This seat is a 9-18kg or 9months ot 4 years approx seat. It faces forwards in the car so baby/child can see where they are going. The harness is a 5 point harness and is fully adjustable to fit all sizes. It also has a multi recline option which is accesable via a small handle at the front of the seat.
Having deliberated for ages about which seat to get for our daughters 'big girl seat' we finally decided on this one for a number of reasons. the main reason being it is Isofix. This means that it fixes securely into the chassis of the car with the easy to use Isofix hooks. These are fitted in most family cars made in the lst 5 years or so but are easy to check for by sticking your hand down the back of the seat to check for the 2 metal loops.
The seat is easy to clip in using the Isofix points as it literally does just clip in. If you need to use it in a car (maybe using a hire car or grandparents) which doesn't have Isofix there is the option of fitting it with a seatbelt as well.
You do need to adjust the height of the straps whilst the seat is not fixed in though, however, it is quick and easy to do with the adjusters on the back of the seat, it gives full instruction on how to adjust this according to your child so you know they are safe. On the down side it does mean the seat has to come out to be adjusted as your child grows, however, this iksn't very often and we have been using ours for about 5 months now and haven't needed to adjust them yet.
The straps are then easily adjustable via a button hidden away in the front of the seat, this means that the tightness of the harness is ewasily adjusted depending on if your child is wearing a coat etc.
One feature I really like is that the 5 point harness is padded so if there was an accident and the child was thrown forward then it is less lickly they will have serious damage to their delicate chest.
The recline facility is also easy to use, just pull the handle under the front of the seat and push/pull the seat accordingly then release and click it into place. Fully reclined is good if baby falls asleep as it goes back far enough to stop baby's head rolling forward.
The fabric seems to be hard wearing as well and the seat is firm yet comfortable.
As the seat is Isofix it does come at a premium, however, this is one of the more affordable Isofix seats on the market, especially look out for special offers as we managed to get it for about £50 off the RRP by shopping around.
Isofix means that you can fix the child seat via rigid link to the car seat. You have to check whether your car has a Isofix hooks. Check your car manual and see whether hooks exist behind back seats. There are metal rails underneath the child seat which are hooked to the Isofix points in the car. That is much more secure link then adult seat belt which is used by many other seats. The shell of the child seat is also very good - strong and rigid. I am very confident that it offers great security to my child when I put it in. The seat is for childer form 9m to 4 years. You can basically use it when you child starts seating. Harness can be adjusted for height very easily. There are at least 5-6 positions. There are three reclining positions which is useful if you want to make better sleeping position for the baby. Very good product. price mark around £150.
