When our daughter reached a year old we decided it was time to move her out of her Britax Rock-a-Tot car seat into one which gave her more room. We had been so impressed with her Rock-a-Tot that were decided to stick to Britax - afterall they are the most tested car seat on the road.

After weeks of research we settled on the Britax Renaissance. It did seem a bit pricey but I spotted one in our local Mothercare store which was a discontinued fabric and snapped it up for £90. And the price of a car seat does not even compare to the price of your child's life. In the 2 years I have been using the Renaissance I have never been disappointed. Emily is always fastened securely - and the easily adjustable straps are excellent when she's wearing a big winter coat. She is 3 in a couple of weeks time and is so far showing no signs of outgrowing the seat - I know it will last her at leat another year.

The only downside I've found is that it is big and bulky and can be awkward to move between cars (especially in the dark!). I drive a Corsa and find that Emily's feet do touvh the back of my seat, but to me that's small price to pay for knowing that your child is strapped into what is probably the safest car seat on the market.
