We wanted the safest seat available and after consulting the Eurotest Child Restraint Report (available on the AA website) we decided on the Renaissance car seat over the Maxi-Cosi Priori XP, simply because it is one of the safest car seats available without ISOFIX fittings, and the seat cover is washable (Maxi-Cosi cover hand-wash only).

After a lot of shopping around I found the Renaissance available for £99.99 from www.kiddicare.com as opposed to £135 everywhere else.

The Renaissance is reassuringly BIG and heavy and it took a bit of manoeuvring to get it on the back seat of our 3 door Escort, but once in, it was very easy to install. I decided to try the middle seat using the lap-belt first, and found the instructions very easy to follow and the Renaissance is now firmly installed and will not move at all. The Renaissance is big but there is still plenty of room in our 3 door car.

I would recommend this car seat to anyone looking for peace of mind ? it received some of the best results in tests and Britax have a Fit-Finder on their website so you can check if it is suitable for your car before you buy.
