General Car Seats

I would like to let all mothers-to-be what a waste of time it is buying a Mothercare bottle warmer. I was given one as a gift not long after my daughter was born, and thinking it would be quicker than boiling the kettle, i gave it a go. When i switched it on it took just as long to heat up as the kettle did and heated the bottle in the same time, if not a little longer. My partner suggested leaving it on all the time to make it quicker, as the water would always be hot. This was still not that much quicker than the kettle and i began to wonder why anyone had one. This is not an opinion about car seats, but my experience of buying one. Last December, I was about 14 weeks pregnant. I was really excited about being pregnant and wanted to buy a car seat straight away because I'd read it could be weeks to order one. Also I was in the mood. Glad I did it so soon because now I am 32 weeks gone and My bump is weighing me down. I'm also having less sleep. Anyway, about the car seat... Now I have always believed that everybody who travels in a car should wear a seat belt but there are some who think that they are to good to crash and I have seen them letting their kids dance around in the back of the car no belts or chairs to hold them in and it amazes me that even though we hear of people killed in car crashes everyday they still let them do it. Isn't it about time someone invented a car seat that a toddler can't get out of. All seats seem to have the same strap design and any determined toddler can wriggle their arms out of the straps and then climb out, no matter how tightly it is fastened. My eldest daughter was constantly climbing out of the seat from about 18 months of age and really terrified me one day when I glanced backwards to find that not only had she climbed out but she'd also figured out how to wind down the window and was standing on the back seat leaning out!
