We bought a Ford Focus estate car because we are due to have a baby and thought that the extra boot space would come in handy. We haven't had any problems apart from when it came to try to get a baby car seat to fit. Because of the air bag, the (rearward facing) seat has to be fitted into the back. Many years go, well when I was a wee lass anyway, there was no such thing as a car seat for babies and young children. It was a common sight to see a baby or child sitting on the lap of adults, either inside or outside the seat belt. I quiver at that thought now. Most children now are in car seats, but I still see some children not strapped in. ARE THEY MAD???
