Advantages: insulated so water stays warm longer

I would like to let all mothers-to-be what a waste of time it is buying a Mothercare bottle warmer. I was given one as a gift not long after my daughter was born, and thinking it would be quicker than boiling the kettle, i gave it a go. When i switched it on it took just as long to heat up as the kettle did and heated the bottle in the same time, if not a little longer. My partner suggested leaving it on all the time to make it quicker, as the water would always be hot. This was still not that much quicker than the kettle and i began to wonder why anyone had one. A few weeks later i came home to find the kitchen floor soaking wet and assumed it was from the bin. Alas, the same happened the next morning and i discovered the worktop was also wet - it was coming from this fantastic bottle warmer! At first i thought someone had just spilled the water out of it but soon realised it was actually leaking out from underneath. As you know water and electricity don't mix, especially with a baby in the house., so i took the bottle warmer and threw it in the bin... and that was the last time i saw it.
