BEWARE OF MOTHERCARE> (General Car Seats)

PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS OPINION .

We recently went to Mothercare world in Aberdeen to buy a larger baby car seat for our baby .

We chose the model we wanted and ask the assistant if she coukld fit it . Off we trundled to the car park and opened the car .
The assistant "fitted" the car seat . She anounced it was a really good fit . I shook the car seat as it should remain very static , to my horror it waggled all over the place . I asked the assistant if this movement was normal ( I of course knew it was not ) she said yes it fits better than most .

I WAS HORRIFIED the seat didn't fit the car at all , how could the staff have such little knowledge , the woman was middle aged as well .She didn't have a clue and she was happy to sell ill fitting car seats which could potentially kill an infant in the event of a crash .

We said we were not happy and yet she still tried to convince us to buy it . We then left the store and drove round the corner to toys'r'us .

In toys'r'us we found a much larger selection of seats and 2 assistants caried at least 10 seats out to the car and fitted them before they and we were happy with the model and the fit .One of the assistants was only 18 and new far more than the older woman in Mothercare . The model we chose is compatiable with our car and stays static when shaken .

Let this be food for thought when you next buy a child seat from Mothercare .
