I know it's a very emotive title but I really think it's an accurate one. We bought grey upholstered model about approx 18 months ago (117 GBP) and although it was never an easy seat to use (the 5 point harness twisted all too easily) we could at least trust it to be safe. However, since moving to the next stage where the cars 3 point harness comes into play we discovered that when our daughter leans forward to pick something up (and all children will do this) the red plastic guide at the shoulder is so badly designed that it stops the seat belt from retracting and thus effectively left our daughter in an unrestrained seat. I got this car seat as thought would be a long term investment. I was disappointed and am going to buy another different car seat, did not save money at all! My daughter is just over 2 years old, she still sleeps on some journeys, her head falls forward and she looks very uncomfortable. The straps are not easily adjusted when your child is in the seat, you have to take them out and guess how tight should tighten, defeating the object. It without fail takes me a few minutes every time to get the buckle on the 5 point harness to lock in, very frustrating.
