Don;t expect it to last too long! (Maxi-Cosi Cabrio Infant Carrier)

Advantages: One of the safest on the market. Lots of variety of colours. Can buy base to fit into car.

Disadvantages: Won't last very long even if you don't have a big baby! Quite expensive.

We bought this car seat for around £90 as it fit onto our Bugaboo wheels with the adaptors and was apparently one of the safest on the market.

The maxi cosi comes in a wide variety of colours and all have a material sun cover which tucks nicely into the back of the car seat.

Our little boy was 7lb 8oz when he was born and was buried by the seat, however, 2 months on I have had to move the new baby cushion up to the next setting and will soon have to remove it all together as he is getting too big for it. The only problem with removing the cushion is that there is then no neck support for him so I will have to look into getting a support pillow for his neck. Ethan is not a big baby, in fact he is following average weight and length measurements. I am not sure what other car seats are like but I really don't think this one is goin to last much longer! I was under the impression that it should last him around a year!

Having said that the car seat is very easy to fit into the car using a seat belt or you can but either an iso fix base or a base that fits into the car using a seatbelt. We could not get the iso fix base as our car would not support it, however, we bought the ordinary base for around £60. Although this is not a necessity it makes it a lot easier to get the seat in and out of the car because you just plonk it on the base to put it in, making sure the markers go green and just pull a lever to get it out again. This makes it much easier when you go shopping and someone parks too close to you!!! The only problem with the base is that it is only useable with this car seat so when we have to move onto a bigger one it will be redundant.

The straps are easy to use and there are two material bits that you can slide up to make the straps comfier around baby's neck.

Overall this is a good car seat as long as you don't expect it to last too long!!

Summary: A good safe car seat but I think it is quite a lot of money to spend as it won't last long
