Advantages: light, lots of different designs
Disadvantages: No rain cover
I am a fan of the Maxi Cosi car seat range, and have just purchased the Priorixfix as my son is getting too big for the Cabriofix.
Maxi Cosi continually perform in safety test, which has to be the biggest consideration when choosing a car seat. The seat itself is not too heavy and doesn't compromise on safety; it still feels sturdy and secure.
It has a built in sunshade which is a little bit fiddly to put back in when not in use but too be honest, I nearly always left it in sit; the hood attaches to the carry handle, so it can be easily put down without unclipping it.
The seat has a wedge cushion inside for very young babies which can be removed when they get a bit bigger and a head support which is also fully removable. The car seat cover is fully machine washable and you can purchase additional covers.
This car seat will fit onto many different pushchair chassis (I use it with a Quinny Buzz) although you will need to purchase adaptors if your pushchair doesn't come with them. If desired you can additionally purchase a base (either isofix or for use with a three point belt) which makes take the car seat in and out much easier.
The only downside is that it doesn't come with a rain cover
Summary: Feels safe
