      Maxi cosi support pillow

When my little girl was born she had a Maxi Cosi car seat to travel in the car with. This is a small car seat that is suitable from birth and can be taken out of the car and carried around as a carrier as well which proved very handy. The car seat fit in the car with the help of a secure bottom section that was bolted into the car. THe car seat allows your baby to travel backwards which is very important from birth as their head is better protected this way and when you are driving and brake the head falls back into the seat properly and you do not risk injury to your child. After about 9 months though my little girl got too big for this seat. You generally move your child up to a bigger forward facing seat once they are about 6 months but there are also weight restrictions too that you can follow to know when is the best time to upgrade to the bigger seat. My little girl was still quite small when she went in her big forward facing seat but it was time as her legs were getting quite long and she was hanging out of the end of the little baby seat.

However, when we put her in the big seat she looked incredibly small and we noticed that her head did not have very much protection because she was so small and didn't fill out the big seat very well like other children do, she is quite small and pixie like so she was never going to completely fit the seat. The Maxi Cosi seat she has is definitely very secure and well made and around the head it does have curved sections to somewhat protect the head but we decided to get her some extra padding to not only protect her head but to make it more comfortable for her too in the form of this Maxi-Cosi support pillow.

THis pillow is really nice and comfortable and its really quite soft too which is nice so it must be quite nice for my little girl to rest her head on it. The pillow is made of a plush material, almost like a velvet which is nice to touch and very soft. The pillow is black so it blends in well with the colour of the seat which is also black and doesn't look out of place or like something that you've just stuck in the seat to make it a bit more comfortable. It was really easy to install this pillow into her car seat. It basically just fits above the seatbelt/harness portion which goes over her arms so its at just the right level for her little head. The pillow then pads out the back of the seat quite well so she can rest her head back on it and also if she turns to either side it has quite a bit of padding there too. My little girl always falls asleep in the car with her head turned to one side and lent back and this pillow looks like it really supports her neck well and must make it quite comfortable to fall asleep on.

The pillow is for use with Maxi-Cosi Priori SPS, Priori XP and PrioriFix car seats as it fits in these different types. It does say that the pillow is machine washable although and that you are able to put it in the tumble drier although I have never done either. I find that it wipes clean quite nicely with a damp cloth and to be honest it doesn't really get that dirty, it just needs a quick wipe down now and again. I don't think I would put it in the tumble drier if I washed it as I think the plush material would not hold up that well in a tumble drier. The material has held up well though and after about nearly two years of use this pillow still looks really good, no wearing away of any of the material and no bobbling etc which is really nice. I hope it will last until we don't need a car seat anymore which will be good. The pillow cost us £15 and its definitely something I recommend to give your child a bit more comfort and a bit more protection.
