Nania Teamtex Trio Car Seat
Advantages: Good price, looks good
Disadvantages: It broke
We had a travel system for our youngest daughter and so when her legs started to kick the seat of the car we knew we neede to have a look for another car seat and it just happened to be at the same time as the Asda baby event was running. I managed to pick this car seat up for £25 which is a lot cheaper than any orthers we had seen, we decided to give the seat a go as it conforms to all the safety standards so believed that it would be safe for our daughter.
The seat is for groups 0, 1 and 2 although having used the seat I wouldn't put a new born baby in it simply because it has no head support as such and to me it is rtoo upright for a newborn but that is just my opinion and of course if it meets the safety standards then it is safe for a newborn baby. Stage 2 car seats are suitable up to 25kg so this seat should last a long time, I would expect a child to become too tall to use this before the weight restriction came in but maybe that's just my childrens build.
The car seat is mainly black in colour and has the name of the manufacturer embroidered on it, it has bright red straps and a cushion for behind your childs head which is a mismatch of little squares in all colours of grey. I think the car seat is quite attractive and of course with the colours it can be for a boy or a girl.
The car seat is very easy to fit and very light to carry so transferring from one car to another isn't a problem, we never used the seat as a group 0 so I have only ever fitted it as a forward facing seat. The seat belt threads through the back of the seat, when fitted the diagonal of the seat belt runs up the back of the seat. The harness is a 5 point safety harness which I would expect with every car seat of his stage, the straps are very easy to adjust simply pulling the end of the strap to tighten and pinching the clips on the harness to loosen. I like that you can easily adjust the harness every time you put your child in and out of the car so it doesn't matter what they are wearing and it makes it easy to get your child in and out without having to bend their arms through.
We used this car seat without any problems for a couple of months and were happy with it, my daughter never seemed uncomfortable and if she fell asleep in the car her head didn't flop, I like that it is easy to move from one car to another as my sister sometimes looks after my children and needs a car seat. Now for the bad, one day we pulled into Asda of all places and on removing my daughter from her car seat pinching the clip as you are meant to the clip came away in my hand. We ended up with no way to secure our daughter into the seat and since we were at asda we took the seat in and complained, we were told they hadn't had any others returned and so ours must just be an odd one but to me that isn't good enough for somethign of safety and it makes me wonder if we had had to stop suddenly would the harness have held in place.
I won't recommend this car seat simply due to our experience with it and I personally won't be using this make again.
Summary: 4 stars for comfort and price, 1 star for the fact it didn't do the job it should
