Nania Teamtex Trio Car Seat
Advantages: Cheap looks nice
Disadvantages: Lack of padding
After spending over £200 on Amelia's first car seat and base I was reluctant to get an expensive model again as we realised that A) All car seats are safety checked to the same standard and B) we very rarely do long journeys in the car, so she's normally in her car seat for a maximum of 15 minutes at a time. We picked this Nania car seat up during the Asda baby event for £25 thinking that if it didn't work out we could put it in my parents car as a spare and if it did work out we would have saved a lot of money
This car seat was very easy to fit. It uses a normal seatbelt then the car seat has a 5 point harness for baby to use. The instructions are on the side of the seat which is a massive plus point if you're planning on moving this seat from car to car. We don't as my parents have their own and she only really travels with my husband and I or them. It is also very light so it's not going to be a problem to carry around if that's what you plan to do.
Although this seat is very light it feels very sturdy when fitted. It doesn't wobble at all. We have only used this car seat in the front facing position but it does say it's suitable from birth as a rear view seat. I think this is actually questionable as the seat is very upright with little padding. I certainly wouldn't put my newborn in it. It is fine when baby is ready for a forward facer as long as you don't do long journeys. If we had reason to trek up and down the country I'd personally want something more padded. Amelia doesn't seem to have a problem from a comfort point of view however and regularly falls asleep in here. Her head doesn't loll forward and there is a headrest, albeit a very thin one.
The car seat is predominately black in colour with bright red strap and the head rest is an assortment of little grey squares. For a car seat it is quite attractive, certainly not ugly. It is very much unisex and would be suitable for either gender. The straps are easy to adjust and also come in 4 different height settings so you can make sure your baby is secured comfortably.
This car seat is apparently suitable for children up to 4 years or 25kg. I don't think it will last long and personally I wouldn't feel comfortable using it for the next 3 years based on the fact that Amelia seems to fit it well now, with another 3 years growing it we would have to shoe horn her into it. She is small for her age as she was born prematurely so I would like to meet the 4 year olds that they got in here.
All in all I'm perfectly happy with this seat and will use it until Amelia grows out of it. It is fine for us but if you're looking to do long journeys or have a newborn then in my opinion this car seat would not be suitable
Summary: I would reccomend
